The UK is the most heavily surveilled country in the world with more than 3 million surveillance cameras throughout the nation. By far the biggest owner of these is the government, which is a cause for concern for many people. Leaving this aside though, we can see some tremendous benefits from the surveillance program, as well as room for a lot more benefits. A surveillance system can, in some respects, replace much of our police force, and has already done so to a degree. We can attribute much of the reduction in police numbers to the fact that we now have cameras able to surveil the streets, where previously we required police officers on every corner to perform the role. Video recordings are also far more reliable than any human witness, so the information gathering aspect of the surveillance systems is very beneficial to our legal process, as well as our national security.

Secure Doors for your Home or Commercial Property
Posted on April 27, 2014 at 11:32 am
Breaking down a door is actually easier than you might expect, so ensuring that the door doesn’t provide easy unwanted entry is important, whether that is for your business or for your home. A secure door improves upon a typical door in a number of ways: Its locking mechanism will be more advanced, perhaps even with an extra mechanism involved, which only activates when somebody tries to gain entry without a key – all of this can be of great benefit to you. It will also be heavier, and made of stronger materials, which can help to ensure that somebody can’t just break the door down. The only down-side, if you want to consider it a downside, is that the door will be heavier than a less secure alternative. This can be a problem for retail businesses, as they will have people walking in and out of the building, having to open a heavy door every time.

Surveillance for your Home
Posted on April 23, 2014 at 9:37 am
A home has vastly different security requirements from what a commercial residence has, but security conscious individuals may feel the need to secure their home. You can go about doing this through a variety of ways, but perhaps the most suitable, and acessible, is to buy a surveillance system. The security offered by such a system offers you a layer of security which is hard to compare to through other methods. Often times, just letting people know that the building is under surveillance is enough to discourage any nefarious individuals from attempting to gain access. Of course, it isn’t fool proof, somebody could still make an attempt, either by conecealing their identity, or by pure idiocy, so buying secure doors and windows is another important part of your home’s security apparatus. One important thing to include in your serveillance system is an upload to a cloud service, so that the only copy of your surveillance isn’t just a hard copy in your home. This means that you have added protection against arson, which can destroy the recordings through fire if you ignore this point.

Welcome to the new Security Advice Website

Welcome to our new website, where we inform our readers about the latest improvements within security technology, so that they can make better decisions about their security matters. We will also cover a lot of other security concerns, from the ideal surveillance systems, dependent upon what you plan to use them for, to the role security personnel can play within your security apparatus.
Security requirements can vary for a number of reasons. For instance, there are legal requirements for businesses which hold privelidged information to abide by, which demands a higher level of security for access points for that information. So law firms and medical offices require above average levels of security. Other examples of when extensive security might be required is in banks, money exchanges, high priced item shops (such as jewellers), and with research and development facilities. For all of these, acquiring an excellent security apparatus is appealing for a number of reasons, such as increasing their employees safety, as well as the publics, and improving the security of their property, as well as reducing insurance costs, which does happen when you establish a higher degree of security in your premises. Businesses aren’t the only things worth discussing in the same scentence as security, as it is still an important concern for private citizens, either to secure their property, or to protect themselves. Security comes in many forms, from protecting individuals, to protecting property, and stop unautorised data collection.
