Company security reviews

With the ever changing and adapting business comes a constant responsibility to adapt to ensure that it protects its customers, data and assets.
With any size company this is important, but the larger the company, the larger the target. This is why it is crucial for companies to review their security across the board.
The CEO’s and the board of directors are responsible for ensure that this happens on the regular basis, especially with the increase of cyber-attacks.
They need to ensure that they are aware of who manages the different types of security from cyber to physical protection like CCTV etc. They need to be aware of their most crucial information/assets and what the ramifications of this being taken or damaged would be.

The other crucial aspect of a review is the ability to look back and assess the success and failures in the company’s security systems and confirm if this has been acknowledged and “fixed”.

Securing your home

When it comes to home security, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) may not be what you’re looking for. You may want something that’s less evasive, but is still affective at perturbing an intruder. This is when you decide to have a burglar alarm. These systems are usually quite simple and will be set off by a door, or window opening or closing – depending on the set up of the system. This works by creating an electrical circuit within the door/window frame. When this circuit is broken, it triggers an alarm. As we mentioned, the alarm could trigger on opening the door, or on closing the door. You can even make the glass itself a circuit, so that if the glass is broken the circuit is broken which triggers the alarm.

This is a similar mechanism to pressure sensitive alarms for example in floors; the alarm is triggered when there is an increase, or decrease of weight/pressure.
