If you’re the manager of a big construction site, then you need to be sure that you implement a thorough construction site security programme. That means coming with an overall plan, a safety programme, assigning proper supervisory responsibilities to the right security personnel, and encouraging all of your staff members to master the use of the personal protective equipment.
There are several reasons why any construction site needs to have tough security. First of all, it’s to protect the crew members and contractors working on the site. Construction work is fraught with risks and danger, and it often happens under the hot sun where people can lose their cool. This isn’t to say that a security force is necessary to break up fights among the labourers, but simply to help them remember all the established safety protocols and follow them to the letter in a hazardous work environment. While specialists might know the ins and outs of their own particular discipline, they might not know how to stay safe around someone else’s work. A crane operator might need to be reminded to stay away from welders, and so forth.
Second, a security programme might be necessary to protect the crew and site from people outside the work area. Homeless people and trespassers might be looking for a place to spend time, competitors might be looking for a chance at corporate sabotage, protestors might not approve of the construction taking place, and thieves might want to make off with equipment and materials. These might not happen in broad daylight, but security is necessary during the nights and weekends.
Management needs to work with security personnel closely to create and implement a security programme. Regular meetings should take place following the start, to make sure that necessary changes happen when prudent and that compliance is held up over the course of the project.
Emergency and safety response procedures must be summarised into a cohesive plan that details what activities need to happen and how often. Individuals on the security team should be identified by name and badge number and assigned specific duties.
Perhaps the biggest need for having security on a construction site is responding to accidents and injuries. First aid and emergency medical care are often the responsibility of the security wing of the staff, and they at least might have to guide emergency first responders safely through the work area. So as you can see, choosing the right security company UK is critical, not just to the protection of your staff, building and assets, but to the reputation of your organisation. Construction sites are targeted by thieves and vandals, so you need maximum protection. The best way to achieve a high level of security is to find a company who can share in your vision for success, taking your unique challenges into account, assessing each vulnerability with meticulous detail. That’s the sign of a great security firm!

For some of us, we do not have the budget to invest in high-quality CCTV camera or alarm systems for our homes. But we still want our homes to be as secure and protected as possible. So what are some ways we can still keep our homes protected?
One item which you could invest in for your home, which is much cheaper than other CCTV systems is a Ring Doorbell. These offer your video surveillance for around your door. Allowing you to check on your home and talk to people at your door.
Some cheaper options for keeping your home protected is checking that your front door and windows are locked before you leave your home. This ensures criminals do not have easy access to your home. Another option is becoming friendly with your neighbours and asking them to keep an eye on your home as you will for them.

We see homes all around us with security alarms on them. But are they really necessary? Should I invest in one for my home?
Firstly, if you are based in a high crime area, I would 100% recommend that you look into an alarm system. Due to this being an excellent crime deterrent.
As I just mentioned, alarm systems are an excellent crime deterrent. They will help to protect your home when you are not around. As well as this, most people do not know this, but you can have an alarm which connects to your phone. This is normally an add on at extra cost from your supplier. However, it allows you to know when you alarm is sounded, and when people turn the alarm on and off. Helping you to always know what is going on in your home.
Alarm systems however are not always necessary. A cheaper way to have protection on your home is by building up a good relationship with your neighbours.

In this article, I am going to share with you some cheap and inexpensive ways to improve the clarity of your CCTV footage.
Firstly, you should make sure that your CCTV camera is clear from any obstruction. Placing the camera partly behind something will not give you the best view. Yes, it will be hidden and less obvious. But it will not serve its purpose of protecting your company if it can not see a full picture.
Another way to improve the footage from your CCTV cameras is making sure you clean them. They can and will get dirty very quickly. All it will take is a few minutes at the start of every day to wipe them down to improve the footage. Cobwebs can greatly impact the footage of your CCTV camera. Removing these will really help.
These are my best two ways of improving the footage from your CCTV camera.

Do you currently have a construction company? If you do, it is likely that you have also hired a security company to help you out. If you have a professional business providing your security for you, it may include cameras, sensors, alarm systems, and also at least one security guard. The role of a security guard at a construction site is somewhat similar to what most of them do at various businesses around the world. They provide a meaningful presence to deter the potential of theft and vandalism, plus they can also handle certain situations that may require their personal involvement. Here is an overview of what is involved when looking at the role of construction security guards.
How Do These Security Guards Help Construction Sites?
When a security guard is at a construction site, they provide multiple forms of assistance for these companies. First of all, from a technical point of view, they may be necessary because of the contractor’s insurance policy. Second, they do serve as a deterrent for potential crimes that might have occurred if they had not been present. Just seeing a security person at night can prevent crimes from occurring. Finally, security guards can alert the authorities that can arrest people if crimes are found to be occurring. If your facility is large, you may have more than one security person at this facility.
What Is Their Actual Role While Patrolling Your Construction Site?
Although this can be debated in several different ways, the primary role of any security guard at a facility is to deter crime. That is their primary function. Although they may be necessary for insurance purposes, and they can call in law enforcement when crimes are being committed, their primary purpose is to prevent people from pursuing criminal activities. For example, if they do not see a security guard present, and they can go over a fence, they may spend hours stealing merchandise and tools. However, when a security guard is patrolling the construction site, would-be criminals will think twice before trying to steal anything at all.
How To Find Companies That Can Provide You With A Security Guard
There are some companies that not only provide security systems but also individuals that will serve as security guards on a daily basis. In most cases, these professionals will be there once the job site is closed. It is during this time that most criminal activity tends to occur. People will not try to steal while everyone is on the job site. They will only do so when they have the advantage. A security guard that is present on a regular basis will eliminate that advantage, helping the construction site owner to save money by deterring criminals from stealing their belongings.
Security guards are necessary forms of protection for many businesses. In some cases, they will be armed, but on a construction site, they simply provide a deterrent for potential crimes. If you need to have one because of your insurance, or if you have had crimes lately and want them to stop, you simply need to hire one security guard. Try to use a company that has properly vetted each guard. They must to a background check to make sure they are the right person for the job. Once they are fully trained, you will rest easy at night knowing that these professionals will be guarding and protecting all of your belongings at your construction site.

We have all heard of CCTV cameras and intruder alarms and the positive impacts they have in the fight against burglaries and criminal activities, but have you thought about the installation of a fog machine and its role at protecting your valuables, business or home against unwanted visitors?
Security fog machines are safe to use and cause zero damage, so are useful even in places where expensive equipment, goods and electrical are. A security fog machine, cannon or smoke cloak as they are sometime referred to are highly sensitive and once triggered will filled a large area with a harmless dense fog and therefore causing the intruder to flee (or at least try to) before they become overwhelmed. The fog is made up of water and harmless Glycol or Glycerine which is forced quickly into the air producing the thick fog/smoke.

Many restaurants in the UK have CCTV cameras installed. It gives a sense of security for guests because it’s a means of deterring crimes. That said, there are so many reasons why having security cameras in restaurants makes perfect sense.
A good quality CCTV system with high-resolution cameras pays for itself during a relatively short space of your time, because it will highlight areas where you’re losing money for a spread or reasons like employee errors, or possible deliberate theft. Another area is staffing, as perhaps some might not be quite as conscientious and hard-working as others. This is true of any workplace, but with CCTV cameras, you have the proof there, while being able to see how each team member manages time and also see who is most productive.
CCTV camera systems are often tailor-made for your restaurants, coffee shops or cafes. If you are a restaurant owner, try to find one that’s professionally designed, and of course installed to suit all of your licensing requirements.
