Businesses, security should always be one of your top considerations. You want to protect your business, not put it in danger. So, what are some of the best types of security for your business premises?
It can sometimes be hard to distinguish what will be a good type of security for your business. This all depends on the type of business that you own and want to protect. Is it a business with lots of products that could be stolen, a business in a high crime area, or a business where there are likely to be human disagreements? All of these thoughts will help you to choose the best security features for you. What may be the best for one business, will not be the best for every business out there.
Saying that one of the best pieces of security equipment you can purchase, that we believe every company should invest in is CCTV. This serves the excellent purpose of providing you with video footage to protect your business. So, if anyone were to shoplift, or any altercations on your premises, you will have footage to be able to settle the debate and protect your business.
Another option for some businesses that may be best for you is hiring a security guard. This is a good idea if you are working in a business sector where there is likely to be disagreements, for example as a lawyer or in a jobcentre. They can help to keep the peace and disperse any disagreements that may occur. You may also wish to hire a security guard if you work with lots of stock that people may shoplift as security guards are trained to spot and stop these criminals.
When working within any business it is important to consider your security options. You want your business to be safe by choosing the appropriate security services.

When purchasing a home, everybody’s first thought is always safety. Keeping your new home safe from any potential intruders. Today, we are going to share with you some security options for your home.
Firstly, you should always consider changing the locks of your front and back door in your home. This is an inexpensive way to keep your home feeling more secure. You never know who will have a key to your home, so changing the locks gives you this control.
You can also consider installing an alarm system. These help you to know whether an intruder is breaking into your home as an alarm will sound. Some of these can connect to your phone so you will be notified when the alarm sounds.
Finally, you can consider installing a smart doorbell. This will work similarly to CCTV providing you with video footage of your home. However, this is cheaper and better quality. These can again connect to your phone, providing you with 24/7 access to the footage.

As difficult as it can be to prevent a random burglar from entering your property and stealing your valuables, it can be even more difficult to keep someone you know outside of your home, especially if they have a key! CCTV footage will always come in handy, but if you know someone who has a key to your home and you do not fully trust them, you have to ask for the key back, or better yet, change the locks. You will, of course, need a professional locksmith to do this for you, but for the relatively small price you pay for the new lock and labour, it’s a job worth doing. (more…)

For a burglar to break into a home through a security double glazing window, they will have to break the glass. This is the last thing that they are going to want to do when trying to quietly break into a home. If they do break the glass, it will alert those in the home, or anyone in the nearby neighbourhood, bringing a lot of attention to the area of the crime.
Another deterrent that secure double glazing windows bring is the increased chance of injury. Not only this but breaking secure windows will scatter broken glass at the scene, which can capture small pieces of hair and blood. This is extremely useful for a forensic investigation in positively identifying the intruder.
Security double glazing is also generally more durable, and while it is still a glass window, it’s much stronger than a single glazing window. The force of a blunt object on the first pane of glass is unlikely to break the second, causing the burglar to have to hit it multiple times to break it.

It might seem like an obvious choice to use wireless cameras. The convenience of wireless technology can be extremely useful when installing a security system. However it can often be the case that the wireless nature of the cameras becomes a huge disadvantage, especially when compared to wired cameras.
Unfortunately, wireless cameras seldom meet their published wireless distances. This can mean having to place wireless cameras in undesirable spots. On top of this wireless cameras also require power connections making placement more difficult.
Another disadvantage is that wireless cameras tend to use up a lot of internet bandwidth. Sometimes a wireless security system can use all of the bandwidth available, even on 100Mbs internet speeds, rendering other internet dependent machines useless. Combined with the issue that certain wireless cameras require a certain connection frequency, a new router or high speed internet connection might be needed for certain systems.

The garden is one of the first points of entry that criminals usually scout out in order to break into a home. As a result, bolstering the defenses of the garden provides a higher level of protection, not just for the garden area but for the entire premises.
Defensive Fence Configurations
Fences are a common sight in many gardens, and while a standard fence does provide a small level of defense, for them to be truly effective they need to be positioned in a certain way. An effective fence arrangement involves using a privacy screen then continuing down the garden with a panel and trellis combination. There are a variety of recommended security fence formations that can be found online, as well as from police information sources, which provide recommended ‘Secured by Design’ fence set-ups.
Another way to bolster the fences of a garden is to place thorny plants in the immediate area. These naturally defend the area from human and animal intruders.

There are various applications that can be used on a personal computer, turning it into a surveillance system with ease. Each application has different features and are often used in different ways. Some are designed for more advanced users while others are more user friendly, so it’s important to decide which piece of software will work for the user in mind.
Camera Viewer Pro
Camera Viewer Pro is popular choice, when considering how easy it is to use and it’s system resource usage this comes as no surprise. It comes with several features that can be configured to suit the hardware available.
Genius Vision NVR Community Edition
This is an enterprise grade IP camera recording application. A free version is available called the Community Edition, this comes with all of the available features but is limited to 16-channels with 4-channel intelligent video. This is often all that’s needed for the average user so this version may be perfectly sufficient.

When putting together a home security system, especially for the first time, there are certain pieces of equipment that are essential. It’s true that all security systems are different, and it may be the case that what works on one system might not be useful on another. But there are a few important tools that most security systems have in common.
Almost all home security systems make use of a main panel of some kind. The main panel and keypad are the brains of a home security system. The keypad is used to activate and deactivate the system. With a more advanced system, you may be able to use it to do things like program alarm settings.
Another important piece of equipment that security systems use are window and door sensors that react when they opened. How many sensors you buy depends on the number of windows and doors in your home, as well as your personal preference.

When wiring a home security system there are a variety of different wiring types that can be taken advantages off. Using these in the right way not only improves the ease of installation but can also offer a range of other benefits.
Using Category 5 Wiring
Category 5 is a high-quality wiring solution that is used for voice and data transmission. It comes in twisted pairs which use two solid-core insulated wires twisted together to reduce interference. Cat-1 telephone wire is for POTS only and carries signals at less than 4 megabits per second. Cat-5 wire carries data at 100 megabits per second. Cat-5e (enhanced) carries data at 350 megabits.
Home-run Wiring and Daisy-chain Wiring
Home-run wiring solutions make use of a centrally located outlet box. This allows all connections to be managed from this point, in a “star” pattern. A daisy-chain wiring pattern runs a single wire or cable from the distribution panel to a series of outlets, like traditional plumbing or electrical service. Modern whole-house installations tend to be of the home-run type.

Security cameras are only as good as what they can see. After all thier entire purpose is to record video, so the better the video quality the more effective the security coverage.
The best way to improve the visual imagery of existing cameras is to use better quality optical elements. These will offer better contrast over all imagery, and fewer colour fringes around object’s edges (chromatic aberration).
With the better resolution high quality lenses provide, tiny details will be clearer and brighter. Especially at the edges of the image where all lenses have imperfections, also straight lines will show less curvature (geometric distortion).
‘Aspherical’ optics are particularly finely crafted to maximize light transmission, hence impressive F0.8 capabilities. Infrared in daylight and electric light can focus in a different place to visible light thereby defocusing your image. IR-corrected lenses reduce this effect.
A good camera should have a good quality lens.
