When it comes to home security, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) may not be what you’re looking for. You may want something that’s less evasive, but is still affective at perturbing an intruder. This is when you decide to have a burglar alarm. These systems are usually quite simple and will be set off by a door, or window opening or closing – depending on the set up of the system. This works by creating an electrical circuit within the door/window frame. When this circuit is broken, it triggers an alarm. As we mentioned, the alarm could trigger on opening the door, or on closing the door. You can even make the glass itself a circuit, so that if the glass is broken the circuit is broken which triggers the alarm.

This is a similar mechanism to pressure sensitive alarms for example in floors; the alarm is triggered when there is an increase, or decrease of weight/pressure.

With technologies advancing, video surveillance is moving away from the old fashioned video cassette recorders (VCR) and becoming more digital. There are pros and cons for this as recordings can be saved into multiple storage options or even online, which in comparison to the VCR recordings which can be easily destroyed. The ability to automatically store recordings on multiple devices or storage options means that an intruder can’t just take the video cassette anymore to remove the evidence. However, with the increase of technology also comes the higher possibility of a cyber-attack which could enable the intruder to destroy the evidence or add a virus to the device which stores the information which in turn can make it impossible to access the information. Therefore for any owner of video surveillance cameras, ensuring that you pick the best type of video surveillance software as well as the best protection for your computer device is essential, including antivirus software.

The Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devise (RCIED) Jammers are protective gears that protect vehicles and people from explosive devises and bombs, which are operated by a remote control. A RCIED jammer has actually grown into a bigger threat and this call for a reliable deterrent.
With the threat of various terrorist attacks across the world, technology is being introduced to deal with such threats and make the world a safer place to live. Explosive devises or bombs, which can be denoted by a remote control, are rapidly increasing threat nowadays as terrorists are becoming more technically sophisticated.
Therefore, there is need for protection from such dangerous devises. The RCIED Jammers are made to stop the signal of explosive devises or bombs before they detonate. Sometimes, these bombs or any other explosive devises can be placed in a given area for a quite long time without being detected until their operators remotely explode them.

There are many ways you can protect yourself and your environment, having a guard dog, or a home style burglar alarm are both good to put off an intruder. But when it comes to proof, nothing is better than a good old video clip! Home style burglar alarm systems can be incredibly simple, so with the right research, can be disabled. If you chose to have video surveillance or CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) you can usually bank on getting video evidence. Placing several cameras around your site can help you record your intruder, or even tell you if an employee is going somewhere they shouldn’t, or taking cash out the till! However, there are rules to follow. These are part of the Data Protection act and you could find yourself in serious breach if you do not follow the rules carefully. To give you an idea: “The CCTV operator must let people know they are using CCTV.” – a good idea and one most widely used is putting signs up. “CCTV should only be used in exceptional circumstances in areas where you normally expect privacy” – for example in changing rooms or toilets. “Conversations between members of the public should not be recorded on CCTV.” – except in special circumstances. Before installing CCTV, be sure to check all the rules!

For industrial and commercial premises’ which experience a lot of comings and goings, having some control over who has access to the property can be difficult. Unlike with a smaller building, with less employees and visitors, it would require you to have some additional security apparatus to help to cope with the security concerns. The only way to begin to address this issue is by placing checkpoints in a few strategic areas. Typically, these checkpoints will be placed at access points to the building, and access points to the parking lots.
With parking lots, the best way to restrict access is by having a combination of a temporary barrier, with the support of security personnel. This can be a tricky proposition, due to the need to have to organise with the security staff should any visitors be coming to the premises. Typically, the barriers that are used will either be an Arm, or a bollard, both of which can be raised or lowered to allow or block access to people trying to gain entry to the building.

Often times, surveillance plays an integral role in any security apparatus. It is necessary for so many different business reasons, as well as personal ones. For instance, having a surveillance system is important for retailers, for the service industry, and for your homes security. It is applicable to so many situations for good reason; it is very effective, and offers a lot of insurance against failings in any other part of your security apparatus.
For any one of these situations, the requirements of a surveillance system can deviate slightly, making the standard surveillance model more or less suitable for the situation. Because of this, making sure that you have a system which is fit for purpose requires you to choose a specific surveillance system for your requirements. This could mean having a high tech system, which is better able to compile information, store recordings, or even recognise individuals. We can see this taken to the extreme with surveillance systems in big casinos, which are well known to monitor the body language of the people playing, helping the staff to determine if somebody is cheating and needs to be banned. Understanding your requirements of the system is the first step towards making an informed decision.

The UK is the most heavily surveilled country in the world with more than 3 million surveillance cameras throughout the nation. By far the biggest owner of these is the government, which is a cause for concern for many people. Leaving this aside though, we can see some tremendous benefits from the surveillance program, as well as room for a lot more benefits. A surveillance system can, in some respects, replace much of our police force, and has already done so to a degree. We can attribute much of the reduction in police numbers to the fact that we now have cameras able to surveil the streets, where previously we required police officers on every corner to perform the role. Video recordings are also far more reliable than any human witness, so the information gathering aspect of the surveillance systems is very beneficial to our legal process, as well as our national security.

Breaking down a door is actually easier than you might expect, so ensuring that the door doesn’t provide easy unwanted entry is important, whether that is for your business or for your home. A secure door improves upon a typical door in a number of ways: Its locking mechanism will be more advanced, perhaps even with an extra mechanism involved, which only activates when somebody tries to gain entry without a key – all of this can be of great benefit to you. It will also be heavier, and made of stronger materials, which can help to ensure that somebody can’t just break the door down. The only down-side, if you want to consider it a downside, is that the door will be heavier than a less secure alternative. This can be a problem for retail businesses, as they will have people walking in and out of the building, having to open a heavy door every time.

A home has vastly different security requirements from what a commercial residence has, but security conscious individuals may feel the need to secure their home. You can go about doing this through a variety of ways, but perhaps the most suitable, and acessible, is to buy a surveillance system. The security offered by such a system offers you a layer of security which is hard to compare to through other methods. Often times, just letting people know that the building is under surveillance is enough to discourage any nefarious individuals from attempting to gain access. Of course, it isn’t fool proof, somebody could still make an attempt, either by conecealing their identity, or by pure idiocy, so buying secure doors and windows is another important part of your home’s security apparatus. One important thing to include in your serveillance system is an upload to a cloud service, so that the only copy of your surveillance isn’t just a hard copy in your home. This means that you have added protection against arson, which can destroy the recordings through fire if you ignore this point.

Welcome to our new website, where we inform our readers about the latest improvements within security technology, so that they can make better decisions about their security matters. We will also cover a lot of other security concerns, from the ideal surveillance systems, dependent upon what you plan to use them for, to the role security personnel can play within your security apparatus.
Security requirements can vary for a number of reasons. For instance, there are legal requirements for businesses which hold privelidged information to abide by, which demands a higher level of security for access points for that information. So law firms and medical offices require above average levels of security. Other examples of when extensive security might be required is in banks, money exchanges, high priced item shops (such as jewellers), and with research and development facilities. For all of these, acquiring an excellent security apparatus is appealing for a number of reasons, such as increasing their employees safety, as well as the publics, and improving the security of their property, as well as reducing insurance costs, which does happen when you establish a higher degree of security in your premises. Businesses aren’t the only things worth discussing in the same scentence as security, as it is still an important concern for private citizens, either to secure their property, or to protect themselves. Security comes in many forms, from protecting individuals, to protecting property, and stop unautorised data collection.
